Trusted Eye
Trusted Eye: Post-World War II Adventures of a Fearless Art Advocate is a book written by Claudia Fontaine Chidester. The book is not only the story of the author’s mother but a photographic document of her life, centering on her documentations of the artists she knew in Europe during this trying moment in world history.
Layout design: Sally Kronsnoble

This book was no short undertaking. At over 300 pages, it includes stories within stories; letters, quotes, manuscripts, letters. Each of these texts needed to be handled differently to help the readers’ understanding, whether that was through type styling or layout placement. Along with the copy, there are also photographs and art throughout the story, so the layout had to give equal importance to both the text and images.
